All About the Green

Green polish that is!  I'm drawn to greens, blues and purples.  Green is my favorite color of the bunch.  And it probably wouldn't surprise you at all that I have a ton of green polish, more so than my comparing teals post.

Be prepared for a lot of photos...

I didn't do this in any particular order but I did start off with my favorite, Rimmel #286 Rags to Riches on my thumb.

Left to right:  Rimmel Rags to Riches, Orly It's Not Rocket Science, Milani 3D Hi-Tech, WnW Ocean Grotto and ZOYA Yara

Sorry about the "claw" photos...  :)  I started with Rimmel on the thumb and went in order...

I dinged my thumb!  Oops.  No top coat here, just a base coat.  Love the holo on the Milani.  I haven't worn that one in forever!

Next up are some ZOYA greens.  I was given 3 of them from the lovely Marnie or MsGoldgirl on youtube!
ZOYA gifted her a box of polish and she then decided to share the love by giving me Holly, Ivanka and Rina!  I already had Ivanka and Rina and they will be in my niece's hands in a couple of weeks. Shh...  Don't tell her. ;)  Green just happens to be her favorite just like her aunty!

From left to right:  Holly, Apple, Ivanka, Rina, and Edyta.

I love Edyta but I couldn't help but notice that ZOYA Edyta is a lot like Revlon's Mistletoe.  I'm not sure if I compared these before so here it is again if I did!  They look different in the bottle, but very similar on the nail.  The Revlon formula needs a little thinning...  The glitter/shimmer is a touch finer in the ZOYA formula.

ZOYA Edyta is on the pinky and middle, Revlon Mistletoe is on the index and ring.

In the next lot, a couple of these could be considered teal but they were not included in that post so here they are now!  Okay the first one was but it stood out a little green next to all the teal.

From left to right:  WnW Diving for Pearls, WnW Cost is no Issue, SC Nail Junkie, Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed, China Glaze Glittering Garland

SC Nail Junkie is so goopy. I swear it has been years since I wore this.

Another lovely grouping...  Left to right:  OPI Don't Mess with OPI, Models Own Golden Green Beetle Juice, Revlon Emerald, Orly Lucky Duck

I love the color shift on the Model's Own.  Much improved from the first time I wore it.  It was full of bubbles.  Stinky polish though...

And the last bunch but certainly not least!

From left to right:  SC Mint Apple, Huemorista (Etsy) Herbal Steam, Huemorista Clover Fields, NYC Hint of Mint

I am really feeling all of these colors for the spring.  SC Mint Apple was just recently given to me I think I might do a full mani soon with this one.

I forgot, well maybe didn't forget but Herbal Steam is a lovely green with a blue shift.  The formula is amazing.  I need to get some more Huemorista.  There are a ton new collections in the Etsy Shop!  Yay!

So what do you think?  Have you picked our your favorite(s) of the lot?

I will go with of course, Rimmel Rags to Riches, Huemorista Herbal Fields, Orly Lucky Duck, Cult Nails Toxic Seaweed...

Oh I just love them all and I have a couple more to show you tomorrow!!!  :)

EOTD & NOTD!

Well the eyes are from today and the nails are from yesterday.  I filed down my nails and they are ready for a new color!

This is Orly Sweet Peacock that I received from my Secret Sanata Amanda from Mad Manis.  It is a really cool polish.  It basically only needs one coat.  Such a solid formula, no streaks/brush marks.  Wow!

I decided to layer WnW Blue Wants to be a Millionaire later that night which is a favorite of mine to layer because of the tiny holographic glitter sparkle it give off!

I wish I got a photo of this in the sun!

Eyes were pretty simple.  I just swept L'OREAL Infalliable eyeshadow in Bronzed Taupe across the lid, blended it out with WnW Trio Sweet as Candy brown in the crease and blended that out with the cream colored shade on the browbone.  I used a brown Revlon kohl liner to line my upper lash line and lower water line and I used the Bronzed Taupe as a lower lash liner.  Mascara is a layer Revlon Grow Luscious and a layer of Rimmel Lash Accelerator.

Right before the picture I put on some Neutrogena Overnight Lip Repair which really paled out my lips.  lol

I'm going to be "experimenting" with darker lips soon.  I've been inspired by Mercedes of Mercedes Makeup Obsession.  I do have a few what I would be considered as red as I would go but I think a true red is in my near future!

Orly Rock Solid

I keep wanting to call this Rock Steady.  lol  Love No Doubt...

I've been lemming after this glittery one for a while now and finally, finally it was on clearance at Sally's for $3.99!  Sold!  This is from the Fall 2011 Orly Mineral FX Collection.

This polish has holographic glitter of blue, green, red and violet in a dark grey almost black base.  My camera really picked up on the blue!  It's a really cool polish!   And nearly a one coater if you so choose but I chose 2 for the pictures!

The next two pictures are without the Seche Vite Top coat.  Slightly matte, not too gritty, I just really prefer the shine that Seche Vite gives to the nails but it still looks amazing without this step.

I'm really liking Orly polish.  I have a handful in my collection now.

I should probably do a 2011 nail polish favorites list. I'm sure there will be a couple of Orly's on it.

I will get on that!

NOTD

I've had ZOYA Neeka on for a couple of days and wanted to layer so I got out Orly Fowl Play from the Birds of a Feather set that I received from my Secret Santa, Amanda from MaD Manis!

First two are in direct afternoon sunlight

 natural light

Orly Fowl Play and ZOYA Neeka

I love this combination.  Fowl Play has a sheer yet buildable base and it is nice layered over a darker color.  Neeka (my dog's name is Nika) dries much darker than it is in the bottle so it works very nicely with Fowl Play.  I love them both on their own as well!

Fowl play is reminiscent of Cult Nails Clairvoyant (Unicorn Puke) but Clairvoyant is a blue base and Fowl Play is in a purple base and the flakies are much smaller and not as bright.  So not a dupe, not even close but maybe a distant cousin.

So how are we liking the new camera photos?

Secret Santa Exchange... Part Deux!

Yeah, I took part in 3 Secret Santa Exchanges.  I just love shopping for nail polish and make up, what can I say!  Oh and I like getting those kinds of gifts too!

Look what Amanda from Mad Manis sent to me for our Santa Exchange!  Thanks again Amanda!  I had been eyeing this set for so long at Sally's...

Please excuse the broken index finger.  I just quickly swatched these before leaving the house for a community holiday party.  One coat each.  And yeah, I forgot to take the polish off.  lol

I think that this green will be perfect for my sister's wedding.  I know green isn't a traditional bridesmaid nail color or wedding nail color in general, but we all had to pick a certain color for our shoe and mine was Kelly Green.  I think a soft pink just wouldn't do.  I will run it by the bride of course ;)  What say you sis?

More crackle please!

I just loved my mani of Golden Green Beetle Juice and Orly It's Not Rocket Science so I decided to add a little Sally Hansen Crackle Overcoat in Antiqued Gold.

It's Not Rocket Science my dear...

So the bubbles were absolutely driving me bonkers, as my right hand was way worse then my left...  I thought I would go ahead and top Golden Green off with Orly It's Not Rocket Science.

GORGEOUS!!!

Extending a mani...

Another installment of extending a mani...  I have what, 8 coats of nail polish on now?  lol

I used Orly Matte Top.
