Hello!

I apologize for my lack of posting!  We are currently living out of a hotel  (the 5 of us and it's no suite...) and I haven't even had time to paint my nails!  lol

Hopefully I can cook something up in the next day or two.  We are first on the base housing list!  Yay!

Packing up my collection and NOTD!!!

Well here it is folks...  Certainly not rocket science but the gym bag I used was a total random find.  I thought I lost it during our last move.  I literally have been looking for it for 3 years.  Come to find out, it was stashed in our larger suitcase for storage.  So that eliminated part of the problem I was facing.

So here's what I did!  Oh and warning, super pic heavy...

I packed my everyday makeup that I will be using most frequently in smaller makeup bags.

My BB cream, elf bronzer, NYX palette, Merlot night cream, etc...

Oh and a quick NOTD!!!  ZOYA Pandora which I received yesterday!

Just my essential brushes...

Nice and neat!!!  Won't take up too much room.

Now here is my entire collection which was in 3 Sterlite plastic drawers sets.  One larger one and 2 smaller ones.  I have posted a picture before.

 Here it is...

Here are some closeups of the Ziplock contents...

 Here are my minerals/pigments/loose shadows...

 These are my mineral samples...

I wrapped my Naked Palette in bubble wrap.  I just tossed the box recently.  Weird, because I never throw away boxes.  lol

And here is everything packed into the infamous duffle that I thought I lost!

I do have a couple hand towels and bubble wrap to cushion the layers.  I used hand towels because I ran out of bubble wrap which I used for packing my jewelry last night.

Now I just have to remember that nothing can be put on top of the duffle!

I need your help!!!

So...  I'm moving.  Like tomorrow.  We are making the trip down to NC Friday morning.  However I am coming back for the movers in a week.  I did my jewelry last night.  I used to sell Silpada and I have a ton of silver jewelry.  I have a soft case for everything and I cleaned and wrapped each drawer with bubble wrap.

With my make up I will be packing enough for my usual traveling.  But for the rest of it...  I don't want the movers touching my makeup and our things will be left in storage until a house opens up for us could be anywhere from 2 weeks to 3 months.  Hopefully no longer than 3 months!!!

So I don't know where to start.  I'm not a mua so I don't have a traveling make up train case or anything.  Maybe I should get one?  What do you think?  I don't think I have that much but I do have a lot of products, lotions and potions...  Has anyone packed up their entire makeup collection?

Any tips?

What a day!

What a day this is turning out to be...  The $6.66 tab at CVS took a couple of days...

First my BB takes a dive into my coffee.  It's done.  Called Verizon and apparently I don't have insurance on my phone.  It definitely was left off by mistake during a contract signing.  Should have paid attention!  There is insurance on my husband's phone however.  Weird.

But the sun is shining!  So here's my nails of the day!!!  I just slapped on Fractured Foil Crackle.

I don't have any other brand in the crackle, shatter, or textured lines but I really like the way Sally Hansen "cracks."  I've seen straight lines down the entire nail or barely any cracks at all or really small hairline fractures in other swatches.

SH cracks in sich a way that looks good and you can see the polish underneath.  Love!

NOTD

I picked this up last night at CVS.  Revlon Top Speed in Modern Grace.

Such a lovely shade...

I spent 4 hours in the garden digging up plants and bushes, splitting bulbs and replanting.  My nail beds are still sore and they needed some serious tlc...

I'm on twitter!!!

What?  Seriously.  It's all Tati's fault and her huge NYC giveaway!!!

So follow me!  SavvyBeauty1

$6.66

OMG!  Yeah, that was my total tonight after scouring 2 CVS's looking for RapidLash.  I was so excited for my deal.  30% off coupon, $5 ECB, get back $20 ECB and next time I scan my card at the magic coupon machine $5 ECB in Beauty Rewards.  Essentially $5 for RapidLash.  No such luck however.

I did manage to grab a cream blush and of course a nail polish and got back $3 in ECB.  So technically my total was $3.66 for both items.

I feel a little better.  Must stay out of drugstores this week...  It's a sign!

SNOTD

Sunday Nails of the Day at my mom's!

My sister brought NYC New York Color in a Minute Quick Dry Nail Polish with minerals in Pier 17.

Love it!

This is going on my toes later today as well!!!

99 cents.  Smooth application, 2 coats.  You really can't beat it.  The brush is a little wider too.  Not like some of the Sally Hansen but it flattens out nicely for a even application.

Pink Wednesday

I know it's Thursday night but this was my pink look for Wednesday!!!

This is Star Fish from the SC Adventure Island Collection, supposed dupe for OPI Sparrow Me the Drama.

I think it looks almost spot on from the pictures...  The OPI formula has a more creamier or milky appearance in the swatches that I have seen on line but I don't have a side by side comparison.

But I like this pink.  It's sudued, not in your face, perfect pink.

OPI MIss Universe Collection

Like Nice stems, this is another collection I see myself picking up in it's entirity.  I was reading on twitter and yesterday they posted a picture of the 4.

Here's the link.

They look amazing especially the purple coppery duochrome!

UPDATE:  Here's some more information from Body & Soul about this collection!  Looks like we have to wait until August...

Total 180...

So today while running some errands, I decided, well the hubby agreed to let me drop by Sally Beauty for a second to see if the CG metal crackles were there (and we dropped by TJ Maxx!).  I'm not sure what time they opened but it was 9:20.

Then I'm looking at the CG crackles and I wasn't finding the metals.  A sales associate was walking up from the back and I asked her when she thought they expected them to be in.

I get this response complete with attitude, sour face, total classic look, "I don't know what you are talking about.  I'm not sure there is such a thing."   Oh really?  I just laughed and walked out.  It was that crazy!

How do you work at a cosmetic/beauty store and not know the latest products?  I mean, total 180 from yesterday at Sephora.  Yeah, she could have been having a bad morning, but attitude?  Yeah, I won't be shopping at Sally Beauty anymore.  Well I'm moving in a week...  I won't be in there anyway!  lol

So just remember if you are having a bad day, there is no need to take it out on an innocent bystander and if you think that your day is bad, there is absolutely someone else out there having a worse day...

Chin up and smile everyone!  Yay!

Sephora!!!

No haul unfortunately.  This was my first time in a Sephora store!  Insane, I know!  When we lived in Virginia the closest one was about an hour away but with traffic 2-3 hours depending on the time of day. And I never got to the Georgetown one.  But Ulta was always right down the street.

We drove up to Syracuse this morning and only had 45 minutes for the mall.  I literally had no time to indulge!  So disappointing.  But I did get color sampled for NARS Sheer Glow.  Thinking Mont Blanc was going to be too pink I dismissed it.  Sure enough, it was a perfect match!  Siberia was a touch too yellow on me.  I'm going to be good and finish up my Revlon PhotoReady before purchasing any more liquid foundations.  But I'm happy I found a match!

Now I haven't been to an Ulta since I left Virginia 3 years ago since the closet one is up near Syracuse as well.  I totally took living right next to Ulta for granted.  lol

Sephora did not disappoint.  It wasn't a huge store but I swatched a ton of things, saw colors that I've been contemplating ordering on-line...  I was a kid in a candy store it was so amazing.  I could have spent at least 2 hours in there.  The samples they had out were totally disgusting, I of course went crazy with q-tips and baby wipes trying colors out on my hands but it was so fun!  I didn't even have time to take pictures of my swatches!

The sales associates were so nice.  My son was running around acting like a nut and one lady was giving him high fives and distracting him with stickers.

I want to go back!

Liebster Blog Award!!!

The lovely Ms. Prettyful Girl nominated me (me?  yes, me!!!) for the Liebster Blog Award!!!  I can't thank you enough for thinking of me Ms. Prettyful Girl!  Thank you, thank you, thank you!

I'm having so much fun posting and shopping (let's be honest here!) and I am so thankful that you are all reading!

So yes I do accept this award and it is my pleasure to nominate the following 5 blogs that I read!!!

Peggy at http://apolishedobsession.blogspot.com/
Princess Poly at http://princesspoly430.blogspot.com/

And thanks again to everyone who takes time out of their to read all my random thoughts!!!

Easy Going

This is another polish from the Sinful Colors Adventure Island Collection.  However, if you were looking for a Planks A Lot dupe, it's not here!

Easy Going is a very pale pink whereas Planks A Lot (based off swatches I have seen on-line) is very light as well but more lilac or purple based.

Sorry for the blurr...

And of course with SH Fractured Foil Crackle Overcoat...

I got large cracks this time!  I don't think my second coat of Easy Going was completely dry.  But I kind of like it so you can see more of the very pale color underneath.

Oh Zoya!

Zoya just announced on their facebook page that they are announcing a new promo at 3 pm EST.  Something to do with Ivanka and Charla.  Which happen to be 2 Zoya polishes I do not own!  Great.  lol

Update:

I just read a little more on the facebook page and it appears that Zoya "liked" a fan comment.  The comment referred to a Buy 1 Get 2 Free promotion.   We'll find out in a little over an hour if it's true!

Update to the update:

With any non-spoon purchase, you will receive Ivanka and Charla for free!  So if you don't have those colors already, this is a great deal!  Click here for the details!

Sinful Colors Open Seas

This is SC Open Seas, the supposed dupe for OPI Mermaid's Tears.

And now of course with a SH Fractured Foil Crackle Overcoat.  Which I desperately need a back up for.

Shopping

So I just picked up a couple of things and lots of nail polish.   lol

At CVS I grabbed some Granier for $3.99 a piece (on sale for $4.99 and 2 $1/1 MCs).  I paid for that with the $5 ECB from the Covergirl purchase.  $10 for both Beige Blaze and Tulip.  I spent $13 OOP for all 4.

Then on to Rite Aid.  As you know I ran into the Adventure Island display and I picked up 3 for $1.79 a piece (10% shopping pass.)

Coupons I used:
10% off shopping pass
$3 RA facebook crackle
$2 RA Essie
$7.99 +up rewards
$3/$15

OOP $8  The manager was at the register and after handing over everything he says, "Um wow, that bought you down considerably."  lol  Considering the drug store price for 1 Essie is $8.

I'm not sure why I grabbed the pale pink Easy Going.  I think I meant to grab the purple Verbena.  I think that I will go back today and exchange it.  I have the green Open Seas on now.  The more I look at it, the more I like it.

I'll save the darker pink Star Fish for Wednesday so look for that!

The Case of the Missing Bombshell

This has been driving me batty for the past week and a half.  I cannot for the life of me find my Orly Bubbly Bombshell.  It's gone.  I swear I had it.  But there are no swatches or mani pictures on my blog that I can find.  It's quite odd.  I bought it off ebay.  There is no record of it.  Very strange and very convincing that it was never purchased.  However, my ebay account was hacked into and 2 transactions were cancelled but that wasn't one of the cancelled purchases.  Or was it?  I remember unwrapping it.  Or do I?  Was this all a figment of my imagination?  Am I just imagining wearing it and almost have buyers regret because it looked similar to DS Extravagance?  Or was that the reason why I never purchased it, thinking that they were too similar to add to my ever growing collection of polishes?

Questions, questions, questions...  One thing is for sure in the case, I need a serious overhaul of my organization.  Make up too.  But it's not like I store polish all over the place.  My collection is in one simple double decker snappy plastic container with a handle.  Easy peasy lemon squeezy.  But why and where did this one polish go?

A pink glittery, sparkler could have landed into the hands of my 6 year old daughter.  A jaunt through the toy room is my next move...

I will keep you all updated!

Sinful Colors

So at Rite Aid today I ran into 2 displays.  One a dupe for the OPI Pirates of the Carribean Collection called SInful Colors Adventure Island and the other OPI Texas Collection called Sinful Colors Lone Star.

So I think that these are exact dupes?  No.  But do I think that they are close?  Yes, especially the Adventure Island with a Silver shatter or crackle overcoat.  The 3 colors missing from the Adventure Island display are of course the ones that were already in my basket when the picture was taken.

Look for some NOTD's coming soon!

This week's sales!!!

Just a few highlights that I will definitely be shopping for...

CVS

They are still doing the Spend $30 get $10 gas card on select products.
Garnier Moisure Rescue cleansers and moisturizers are on sale for $4.99.  Nice.
CG NatureLuxe are $7 each and the Smokey shadow blasts are $8.  I read a review on Beige Blast on Nouveau Cheap.  It looks very promising!  Spend $15 get $5 off.  Use $5/2 CG MC.  $2.50 a piece.  Nice.
Maybelline is spend $15 get $5.  With a $3 of $10 cosmetic coupon and some MCs would make a pretty sweet deal.

Rite Aid
I have $7.99 in +up rewards and $3 off $15 survey coupon.

I'm going in for a black crackle though I'm not remembering seeing a display.  Hmm...
Maybelline is spend $10 get $3.  I keep looking at the FitMe but I think I'm going to take a break from drugstore foundations.  I've bought and returned 2 NatureLuxe and Rimmels in the past 2 weeks.  I'm happy with my BB cream right now.  Plus with the heat and humidity, I'm back to seeing out minerals.
Sally Hansen tools are BOGO 50% off and buy $10 get $3.  There are $2 MCs out there.  I only have a $1 and a $2 because my other $2 MC say only redeemable at Walmart and Walgreens.

They are doing spend $50 in select skincare products, get $15 +up rewards.  So if you need some curel, jergens, aveeno, garnier etc...  This is your time to buy.  I tried to make it work last week but alas, I passed...

Walgreens
$1 RR going in to this week's sales.  I would have had a lot more if either one of my Walgreens had the Applied Nutrition Super Critical Fish oil.  Oh well.

Lysol toilet bowl cleaner in ad coupon BOGO for $2.99.  Love this stuff.  And I'm out as of yesterday.
This must be a Maybelline week at the drugstores... 40% off
Colgate toothbrushes $2.99 with $2 RR  There are $1 off 2 MCs around and $1/1 from I think All You mag that I will be using.  Free baby.
Neutragena is 25% off and get $10 RR with $30 purchase.  The Ultra Sheer is the only sunblock I can use on my face and apparently the only sunscreen my son can use that doesn't break him out.  Good stuff.

FYI

So I went into CVS today and found out that the sale is only Sunday through Friday now.   The cashier told me that it's new.  I guess it's been a couple of weeks since I did my Saturday shopping.  Which I loved to do because I got both the previous week and future week's sales.  I don't have many shelf clearers in my area so usually I am able to get the deals that I want.  Well usually.  But I guess no more Saturday shopping for me.    I always try for Sunday morning but it's more fun with a shopping buddy :(

Bck to my shopping trip.  I went in for the gold and black Sally Hansen Overcoat crackles because I had a $2 off CVS coupon.  Only gold was left.  Also I grabbed some Physician's Formula Shimmer Strips Custom Eye Enhancing Gel CreamLiner for Hazel Eyes and Green Eyes.  I never get kits for blue eyes, even though I have blue eyes.  I just don't like wearing blue.  I like purples and greens with my coloring.  Since purchasing the UD Naked Pallette, I'm digging browns.

But I've been dying to try these PF gel cream liners since I watched Glam Life Guru's Long Wear Shimmering Eyeshadow tutorial.

Coupons I used...

2 $4/1 PF peelies  (I'm still finding them!)
$2 CVS SH crackle coupon from the Magic coupon machine!
$3/$10 cosmetic purchase
$5 ECB Beauty Club
$6 ECB this week's toothbrushes

The cashier only charged me $4.99 for the crackle.  Awesome!  I will get the black at Rite Aid with the $3 facebook coupon.

I was going to get one more item and use the $5 off $20 printable in the Providence Journal.  It expires today but when reading the fine print it says "This ad for Drug Stores & Pharmacies in Providence."  It's not written on the coupon, it is on the webpage itself.   I just felt funny about it.  If it doesn't "feel right" it probably isn't the right thing to do.  (Sounds like my mom, well I am a mom after all!)  I sent it to my sister who lives near Boston.  That's a little closer to RI.  lol

Regardless, my subtotal for the above products was $2.97  I also bought some gum for my daughter since she was coming to the track with me and donated $1 to ALS.

I will also be getting back another $5 ECB for the Beauty Club.

My plan was to use up all my ECBs and not shop at CVS for a while.  I'm trying.  lol  But next week, tomorrow, I need to grab some Garnier Moisture rescue both the gel and the cream which are both on-sale for $4.99 each.  I have some $1 off MCs.  Those are necessities and staples in my skincare routine.  There, I justified it.  Oh boy...

NOTD

I just slapped on 2 coats of Pure Ice Busted on my Funky Fingers Elephunk.  Busted is to much fun.  it's sheer and you can layer a purple shimmer on anything!

Man does my thumb look huge in this picture.  lol

CVS

I didn't buy anything, surprise, surprise, I know but I scanned my card and out pops $5 ECB, $3 off $10 cosmetic purchase and $2 off Sally Hansen Crackle!  What?!   I usually get the 50 cents off a Dove bar or something.  Looks like they want me back in there shopping for free!

My CVS has the Crackle at $6.49 which I thought was strange but I didn't scan to check.  Guess I better head there tomorrow morning...  lol

Pirates of the Carribean dupes??!!!

Exciting!!! I was thinking I was going to pass on the Pirates of the Carribean OPI collection because nothing stood out to me.  But definitely going to grab some Sinful Color dupes for $1.99 if I can find them!  I was reading on Wendy's blog Love. Life. Beauty. that they are at Rite Aid.  Sinful Colors is awesome polish.  Just remember to use a base coat.  My sister and I know from experience that it stains wicked bad.

Definitely heading there tomorrow to look around.  I was told that the truck comes on Saturday.  Yay!

Check it out!!!

Love. Life. Beauty.: Spotted at Rite Aid: Sinful Colors version of OPI ...: "I don't know if anyone else posted something about this or has spotted this but at one of my local Rite Aids I just saw a display of Sinful ..."

FF NOTD!

Happy Friday everyone!!!

This is FF:  Funky Fingers Elephunk.  I don't think I have ever done a NOTD with this.

It's a really pretty grey, with purple, blue and greenish shimmer.  It's very unique to me as I have nothing in my collection quite like it.  The formula is getting thicker on me but this is 2 coats.  One very thin coat and a thicker topper and of course some Seche.

More crackle!

I thought I would do silver again but realized that I haven't tried Vintage Violet out yet.  The brush is a little wonky and the formula is a bit thick but I still think it came out nice.

Excuse my cuticles.  I realize they are quite tragic!  So this is OPI DS orginal and Sally Hansen Vintage Violet Crackle.

This SH is quite stunning. It has a iridescent blue shimmer to it that I thought would pick out the blue in the OPI holo.

I will be hitting up CVS for more crackles possibly.  But I think I might wait for the China Glaze metals.
