Julep Maven

A couple weeks ago Julep was offering a promotion for the first month of Julep Maven for $5.  Never missing an opportunity to save, I signed up.  Oh, and then I did some research...  I had no idea a lot of bloggers had so many problems with this service.  Next time do research before signing on the dotted line...

That aside, the swatches that I have seen of Julep nail polish are just gorgeous and to try out the monthly service for $5, why not?  I received my first Julep Maven box pretty quickly, I think 2 and a half weeks.  Upon signing up, I was prompted to take a little nail polish personality quiz to help them choose colors for me.

Well they were spot on with the selections.  So the package came in a black box which I opened to find a black bag.  Inside the black Julep bag were 2 nail polishes wrapped in pink tissue paper and some Julep Facial for Hands Glycolic hand scrub.  The hand scrub is a $32 value.

A crazy amount for some scrub but after I used it last night, my hands felt divine.  I regularly use a hand scrub before the start of a manicure, Bath & Body Works Aromatherapy Energy Sudsing Scrub in Orange Ginger right now and whatever lotion I have available.  Currently it's Ecotools Earth-Friendly Beauty Replenish Body Butter...  But the Julep scrub made my hands feel 100% better!

The two colors I received were Drew, a bright fuchsia, a great color for my toes!  And the second color is Alfre a dusty metallic purple which I will be putting on my nails tonight for sure so look for that tomorrow morning!   I swatched the color out on my thumb and it looks really nice with my coloring.  The nail polish retail for $14.

Still not sold on $20 a month.  I will see how the formula works out.  I have 4 more days to decide if I want next month's box.  I do like having the freedom to choose when I want a box.

Love these monthly subscriptions, it is a surprise every month!  My sister signed up for Go Go Girlfriends and I might do that soon as well.  We will see!
